Responsibilities
Build relationships with business and technical teams to understand their needs and project roadmaps.
Evaluate business systems and change requests for conformance with privacy policies, standards, and program objectives.
Translate privacy requirements into operational and technical requirements; articulate and document privacy requirements to business and IT stakeholders.
Identify privacy issues and risk on projects, triage risks and own resolution of risks. Work with cross-functional project teams to develop creative solutions to balance the enterprise goals with the legal/regulatory risk.
Extract business system requirements from our privacy policies, standards, and practice principles, as well as from stakeholders and counsel, through collaboration and research.
Organize and prioritize presentation of system requirements or user stories for product owners, through understanding of core business needs and non-essential requests.
Advocate for and safeguard privacy features and acceptance criteria.
Address issues and exception requests in a timely manner through established escalation and governance procedures.
Validate and report on the implementation of privacy features or requirements.
Develop resources and tools designed to increase business and technical team self-service capability.
Raise stakeholder awareness of common privacy system issues and responses, as applicable to each business domain.
Deliver on commitments, deadlines and objectives while remaining in scope and leveraging appropriate tools, methods, frameworks, and professional standards.
Work independently while representing the privacy program with professionalism.
Qualifications
Core Competencies
Requires customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building & influencing, and results focus.
5+ years of business systems analysis and operations, risk management, compliance, project management, delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery across organizations.
2+ years of experience in a privacy or legal program management role.
Knowledge of U.S. privacy and security laws and industry best practices.
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt to a constantly changing business strategies, work independently, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of system development and business process management.
Proven experience with identifying and resolving requirement impacting issues, working with SME's/Management to develop and implement viable solutions.
Proven experience translating business rules or policies into functional or technical requirements or user stories.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical project documentation and executive-level presentations.
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent practical experience
IAPP Certification (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPP/T) preferred
